Stronghold Invest sells Datscha to Real Capital Analytics

Stronghold Invest AB sells Datscha, its real estate technology firm, to the property data provider Real Capital Analytics (RCA). The merger will combine Datscha’s technological expertise in linking complex public and private datasets with RCA’s global reach across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The transaction is one of the largest PropTech M&A deal in Europe during 2019.

Datscha’s award-winning market interface has become the standard for property markets in Sweden and Finland and was recently introduced into the UK. RCA’s global network of strong relationships with real estate investors, brokerage firms and lenders will provide a route for Datscha to expand its platform offering into new markets. RCA is globally renowned in the investment and transaction side of real estate with property data from more than 100 countries. Data is at the forefront of RCA’s business – having recorded over $18 trillion of commercial property transactions linked to over 200,000 investor and lender profiles. It is a privately held company headquartered in New York City with offices in San Jose, London and Singapore.

“We founded Datscha 20 years ago and it has been a very exciting journey. Now it is time for a new chapter and the merger with RCA opens up a whole new range of opportunities on a global scene. We have always admired RCA and are confident that it will be a good new home for Datscha, its employees and customers”, states Urban Edenström, founder of Datscha and founder & CEO of Stronghold Invest AB.

Datscha will continue to operate under its own brand and Jacob Philipson, Chairman at Datscha, will continue as an adviser to RCA.

“Like RCA, Datscha established itself based on the integrity of its data and the high satisfaction levels of its clients. Both companies also have a history of innovation and the combined technical and analytical talents will be a poweful force” Says Robert M. White, Jr., CEO and Founder of Real Capital Analytics.

"RCA is the perfect owner. Combining Datscha’s tech approach with RCA’s global presence and data assets will enable something that no one has done in the market before", says Jacob Philipson, Chairman Datscha.
